Types of Debate

CX – Cross Examination: Two person, team debate. Student must support position with evidence and the topics are policy based. Teams debate the same topic all year.

LD – Lincoln Douglas: Single person debate. Student must support position with evidence but the topics are value based. The topic changes every two months.

TT- Ted Turner or Policy Debate: Two person, team debate. Student must support position with analysis and logic. The topics are policy based. The topic changes every month.

SC - Student Congress: The student pretends that they are a member of the United States House or Senate and debate bills using parliamentary rules and procedures.
